100% Shea Butter
soothe | moisturize | protect | heal |
Shea butter has been used
in Africa for centuries for its healing
and moisturizing properties. In fact, its been said that
Cleopatra sent her servants all the way across the desert to pick shea nuts for
her personal use. Fortunately for your skin, shea butter has
made its way to the rest of the world.
What is Shea Butter?
Shea butter, sometimes
called African Karite Butter, or Butyrosperum Parkii, can
only be made in one place - West Africa. The "butter" comes
from the vegetable fat found in the nuts of a highly regarded West
African fruit tree called Vitellaria Paradoxa. The
fat is extracted from the shea nuts through vigorous pounding.
What are some benefits of Shea Butter?
Shea butter
is full of ester resins, which is recommended for damaged skin
repair and sun protection. Shea butter has mild UV blocker
properties but it is not recommended as your only cream for sun
protection. Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins A, E and F
(Vitamin F assists in wound healing and can be effective on
eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and dermatosis). It is the
best choice for dry, cracked, rough skin on hands, feet, elbows
and your face.
Why is Mystic Rain's shea butter better than shea butters out there?
Our shea butter is pure and
unrefined. According to the Shea
Butter Institute, "Unrefined Shea Butter has the largest healing
fraction and contains very special natural ingredients that are
ideal for healthier skin."
Unrefined shea butter has not had any
oils and fragrances added to it. It is as pure and untouched
as shea butter gets - making it the clear alternative to other
creams and lotions.
Mystic Rain's shea butter doesn't sit in a warehouse for months and
months. We buy our shea butter directly from Ghana suppliers
every 2 - 3 months so you know you'll get the best quality shea butter
when you order from us.
